Regular travel, irregular circumstances

I prefer traveling in train over bus and car, for it has washroom in it. I usually travel in train. Traveling in train 🚉 has become a routine for me. Everything is pre-planned. I plan every minute as to how I spend my time. If it's night journey not much planning is needed. Just food, bedsheet and pillow. If it's a day journey, elaborate planning is needed to make the most out of the Journey. If going to new places plan is simple, Lookout the window for beautiful unexplored places, capture pictures, Share photos on social media and talk to co-passengers. While traveling to familiar places it becomes monotonous. Hence, detailed planning is required. Plan is set in motion on the basis of number of hours ⏳ to travel. Binge watching, listening to music, reading a book 📙 or writing the blog. If the Journey is long, say for 2 days all of the above activities can be accommodated. I was traveling from my native to Bangalore. Since the Journey was familiar. I had planned on binge wat

A SMILE @ MALL

I'm known for being late, as much as I hate being late, I'm never on time, especially when it’s about meeting my best friend. I don't like to make people wait. Therefore, I always try being there half an hour ahead. Most of the time I'm on time or before the scheduled time. I don't how? Yet, for some reason, I'll be late most of the time when I have to meet my bestie. She wanted to go shopping for trip she was planning from long time. She invited me to help her decide. It's always good to have second opinion by your side while you shop. Preferably from someone of opposite gender. Like always, I tried being on time. Surprisingly she was late this time. Instead of her waiting for me, I was waiting for her, strange as it feels. I was finally on time, hurray...! I decided to wait for her inside mall where she wanted to shop. As I entered mall, I saw lots of temporary shops setup right in the middle of mall. Looked like some eatery, as I came close I got to know those are Pastries and Ice cream shop. Mall had organized Pastries festival. I wasn't hungry, nevertheless I had to kill time. What better way to kill time then to taste these yummy, lip-smacking and mouthwatering Ice creams?

As I was deciding which Ice cream to grab, I came across Turkish Ice Cream parlor. Have you ever heard of Turkish Ice Cream? No? Nor did I. Out of curiosity, I moved nearby to that parlor. In the shop, there was a foreigner probably a Turk in his thirties. Brown hairs and eyebrows and a clean milky white face. He was friendlier then he appeared, particularly with kids. He was no less than a Magician for these kids. As soon a kid ordered Ice cream, he starts his Magical performance. He had a long steel rod; he sticks a scoop of ice cream at the end of it. Then he throws cone in the air and caches it on tip of the steel rod, he now revolves that ice cream cone around kid’s head. As the kid tries to snatch it, he swiftly takes it back adds some more flavors of ice cream and offers it again. Kid grabs hold of cone firmly this time, kid face all lit up thinking he got his ice cream, but almost immediately kid realizes he is just holding empty cone.

Ice Cream seller takes it back covers the cone with tissue, bows and elegantly offers it to kid one final time. Kid very cautiously touches the cone and seller drops it making ohhhss…. Sound. Dumbfounded kid looks down for fallen Ice cream, but it isn’t there, where is it then? Kid looks up; seller dropped the cone, but caught it upside down with his two finger. A sigh of relief from kid, instantly turns into “smile” and then to layers of Joy. Almost everyone who saw this was stunned and formed small line with their kids to buy Turkish Ice cream. Parents of the kids were as amazed and as happy as their Kids. Then, I saw Ice cream seller doing similar thing with three kids simultaneously.

Watching this I almost lost track of time, my phone was beeping, I picked the call, on the other end it was my Bestie yelling at me for being late. As much as I wanted to tell her I wasn’t late this time, I remained silent. I wanted to see her facial expression when I say ‘I was on time and conceivably she was late’. As I met, she started talking about what all she wanted to purchase and she went on and on. I dropped my idea of telling her. I realized there is no point in trying to reason with girl and arguing. No matter your right or wrong outcome is always same. Perhaps, I didn’t want to spoil her Good times. We went inside a multi-retail outlet for apparels. In half an hour or so she filled bag with her choice of clothes taking into account my suggestions. She wanted to try it, so she went inside changing room.
I knew it would take long, so my eyes started exploring for a place to sit. As I was looking out for space to sit I started wandering it’s not bad idea to go shopping with girls, as long as you’re not paying for it, since all you need to do is shake your head. My eyes fell on seat, a man occupied it and he was carrying a baby in walker. In her walker, I saw many toys; I took out a cute minion and told her I’ll take your minion home.

She smiled and said Otey(Okay). I returned her minion she said Tanku(Thank you). I was impressed; such tiny baby yet such big manners. I was happy to see such good manners imbibed by parents at a tender age. My friend and kids mother came out of changing room same time. I presumed second opinion was enough and I was wrong. She took third opinion from her sister over phone, decided to discord entire lot except few and started again. While on move inside the outlet, I met little baby girl several times. Every time she smiled at me, my face instantly lit up.

Happiness is found everywhere, if you know how to look

As for my bestie, I roamed with her to many outlets and malls; she considerably increased size of her wardrobe. No comments on that because it’s her hard earned money and she had every right to use it as she likes. My pride was on all time high walking along side an independent friend.

Smile in Smog

I have always read and heard about air pollution in Delhi. Finally, when I experienced it, I’ve to admit it’s nothing like they describe in news. It’s much worse. Sometimes too terrible. Initially firecrackers was to blame for think blanket of smog in Delhi. However this year crackers were banned. Authorities now realized that it’s not just because of crackers. The real culprit turned out to be burning of Hay in neighboring states (Haryana, Punjab and UP). For days, smog was clearly visible even during daytime. Holidays were announced for Schools and colleges. People were advised to stay indoors and not to do any physical work (Yoga, meditation, exercise, jogging and Outdoor games). Almost every other person was seen wearing mask while outdoors.  Drastic steps were taken to improve air quality. Construction work was stopped, heavy vehicles were restricted from entering Delhi and lastly burning of any kind of waste was strictly monitored. There was also discussion on implementin
