I prefer traveling in train over bus and car, for it has washroom in it. I usually travel in train. Traveling in train 🚉 has become a routine for me. Everything is pre-planned. I plan every minute as to how I spend my time. If it's night journey not much planning is needed. Just food, bedsheet and pillow. If it's a day journey, elaborate planning is needed to make the most out of the Journey. If going to new places plan is simple, Lookout the window for beautiful unexplored places, capture pictures, Share photos on social media and talk to co-passengers. While traveling to familiar places it becomes monotonous. Hence, detailed planning is required. Plan is set in motion on the basis of number of hours ⏳ to travel. Binge watching, listening to music, reading a book 📙 or writing the blog. If the Journey is long, say for 2 days all of the above activities can be accommodated. I was traveling from my native to Bangalore. Since the Journey was familiar. I had planned on binge wat
Who doesn’t like to travel, most of us dreamt of roaming
around the world. Most will have a list of their own. I too have a list, bucket
list to be precise, I want to visit these places put a tick mark on the list,
fill the bucket with the list and kick the bucket. For now, my bucket list is quite simple. The World is a book and those
who do not travel read only one page. I want to read as many pages as possible
and my first chapter will be on Discovery of India. Therefore, I’ve confined my
list mostly within India so that it will be easily achievable. The idea of
creating bucket list knocked my head from “Ek Villian” movie. However, the
places that made into my bucket list are not just inspired from movies, but
also from books, history and religion. Do you’ve a bucket list of your own? If
not, do make one. It gives more meaning to your life. Most people keep their
bucket list secret. But I’m sharing my bucket list in hope of companionship.
Here are the Top Ten
1. Taj Mahal :
Isn’t it obvious? One
among the Seven wonders of the world and a world heritage site is 1st
to make way in my list. A monument of immeasurable beauty, standing
majestically on the banks of Yamuna.
There are two kinds of people in the
world. Those who have seen the Taj Mahal and love it and those who have not
seen the Taj and love it. I intent to visit the epitome of love with my destined
sweetheart.
2. Kashmir
Jeweled crown on the map of India, Kashmir is a multi-faceted
diamond, changing its hues with the seasons – always extravagantly beautiful.
''Agar Firdaus bar
ru-e-zamin ast, Hami ast o- hami ast o- hami ast(If there is heaven on earth,
it is here, it is here it is here).
-Amir Khusro
These words have been
echoing in my mind since childhood along with song of Roja “Ye Haseen Wadiya Ye
Khula Asma”. It is a must see place for me.
3. Ahmedabad;
Walled City of Ahmedabad founded by Ahmed Shah has been
declared India’s first World Heritage
City, recognizing heritage value of the walled city’s unique heritage. No doubt,
it’s an Architectural marvel with lots of Wooden Haveli’s. But the real reason
it made my list is due to the detailed description of Sabramathi Ashram in the
Book My Experiment with Truth written by Gandhi. City was the epicentre of non
violent freedom struggle that led to
country’s independence.
4. Wagah
Border :
If anyone wants to charge their patriotism beating retreat
ceremony at Wagah border, Amritsar is
the place to visit. I’m sure you all might have heard about it.
What’s making news
these days is a restaurant “Sarhad “. Sarhad complex is inviting not only for
its uniqueness in combining the cultures and tastes of a state that was one
till the country's partition in 1947 but also for its own effort to give peace
a chance between the two countries. This info I got from Newspaper during Independence
day and it immediately made way in my list.
5. Kanyakumari:
Kanyakumari is considered as the southernmost point of
mainland India. It is located at the confluence of the Indian Ocean, Arabian
Sea and Bay of Bengal.
Kanyakumari beach is the only place in India where
probably one can watch the beautiful Sunrise and Sunset. Not just that, on full-moon evenings, one can see the moonrise and
sunset at the same time. I’m imagining it to be a rare but beautiful sighting!
6. Hikkim,
Himchal Pradesh;
It’s a tiny village on India-Tibet border in the Spiti Valley
in Himachal Pradesh. What’s special about this village? Well, this village has
a post office. What’s so special about this post office? It has the world’s
highest post office at 14,567 ft.
I can’t wait to send Post card from this Post
office. I want to send letter to all the important ones in my life. I want them
to know, how important they are to me.
7. Hastinapur;
You read it right; The Legendary town of Mahabharata has
survived to this date. Only few people know about its existence. Unlike Ayodhya
this town is not popular. The town was re-established by Jawaharlal Nehru. It
is one of the holiest place and must visit for me.
8. Sandur;
When you think of Bellary, its all about high temperature and
Humidity. But visiting Sandur will prove it all wrong. Sandur
is in a valley within a valley, filled often by thick clouds and mist. The hill
ranges, which would be dry with withered grass and other shrubs between January
and June, turn green after the monsoon.
The mesmerizing beauty of Sandur is
such that even Mahatma Gandhi said “ See Sandur in September” thats how I got
to know about it. I’ve already marked September in my calendar next year to
visit Sandur.
9. Rameshwarum;
To be frank, this place made my list after watching the movie
Chennai express.
The beautiful Pamban bridge is what I desperately want to see
in Rameshwarum. It is said that this is the place from where Lord Rama built a
bridge across the sea to Lanka to rescue Sita from Ravana.
10. Ross and Smith Island:
Have you ever imagined of being stranded in an Island alone
or with your life Partner? Then this Island is for you. Two secluded islands of
North Andaman, connected to each other by a thin strip of sandbar; that's Ross
& Smith island.
The island pair stands as a silent reminder of 'Beauty in
Connectedness'. Special permission from Forest department is required to visit
it. When I’ve already travelled so far I don’t want to miss visiting the
southernmost point of India's territory Indira point of the Great Nicobar.
